Liposuction or liposculpture is an option for healthy people who want to eliminate regional fat deposits. These fat deposits are often complex to get rid of through exercise or training, and often your fat deposits result from genetic and hormonal factors. Liposuction can help here. The operation gives excellent and lasting results and leaves only minimal, almost invisible scars. The thighs, abdomen, hips (sides), waist, chin, inside of the knees, chest (men), and legs are particularly suitable for liposuction. Liposuction is about sculpting or shaping a body and its shapes. However, liposuction isn’t a slimming method and isn’t only ideal for those who want to lose their excess weight.

Liposuction, also known as liposculpture, is about creating a more aesthetic and, sometimes, proportional body shape. Minor liposuction can remove the jowl and give a completely new facial profile, and a more extensive procedure can reshape the thighs and buttocks into a more beautiful body shape.

We are all born with a certain number of fat cells, and when we gain or lose weight, they increase or decrease respectively. During liposuction in Turkey, our surgeon removes a certain number of fat cells. This means that it takes permanently and thus gives a long-term sustainable result. Along with good diet and exercise habits, you have a perfect chance of avoiding new fat deposits forming in other parts of the body. As long as the weight is kept constant, you won’t get bigger thighs if you have stomach liposuction.

However, it is difficult to be affected by cellulite with liposuction in Turkey. Good nutrition and exercise habits are essential to prevent new fat deposits from forming in other body parts. We only use safe traditional, well-documented liposuction methods, as more recent methods of the procedure have a higher risk of complications. This is because these methods generate heat at the tip of the liposuction cannula to break up and melt the fat before it is absorbed. For this reason, there is a risk that the blood circulation in the skin will be affected, which will cause skin necrosis, that is, the death of the skin.

All patients in Turkey experience swelling and bruising as well as numbness and pain in the surgical area after liposculpture. It usually disappears within the first few weeks after the operation. We recommend the connective tissue massage performed by our therapists to reduce swelling and make the area where we liposuction smoother. This is good to start after about a week. There are several liposuction methods; we only use safe and effective ones.

When you choose to turn to us, we see it as a tremendous amount of trust. We ensure that your experience at Turkey’s leading plastic surgery clinic is as pleasant, safe, and positive as you expect. We always try to create a balance between your external and internal health.

What is Liposuction or Liposculpture?

Liposuction or liposculpture is a surgical procedure to achieve more fantastic muscle tone and shaping. It treats small fat pockets, unlike liposuction, which covers more significant areas. Instead of just removing the fat, liposculpture molds it into the desired shape. This can be especially helpful in places that don’t respond to diet and exercise.

Liposuction works best if you have good skin elasticity, especially for younger people who have darker skin tones, don’t smoke, and haven’t suffered too much from the sun. The ideal candidate has a BMI of less than 30, close to their perfect weight. You should consult our surgeon if you have loose muscles or sagging skin due to age or pregnancy. Our plastic surgeon can tell you if you are a good candidate for this procedure.

Who are Ideal Candidates for the Procedure?

For example, heredity, weight changes, and pregnancy can lead to fat deposits that are sometimes difficult. Liposuction treatment in Turkey can be a good alternative for a smoother body shape and a more proportional overall impression. Heredity and hormones control how fat cells accumulate in different body parts, and we are born with a certain number of fat cells. Weight gain means these cells are getting bigger. Unlike weight loss, liposuction reduces the number of fat cells and therefore gives a permanent result. The surgeon can treat most superficial areas of the body with excess fat with liposuction. The most common treatment is for the thighs, abdomen, hips, waist, and chin. An essential factor for the result is the elasticity of the skin.

When starting with liposculpture in Turkey, ideal weight patients with localized fat deposits on their bodies were most suitable for this method. But all people want to eliminate fat deposits, e.g., stomach and buttocks, permanently. Fat accumulating in individual places can be challenging to lose weight, exercise, or exercise. It may be due to hereditary or hormonal factors. The surgeon can ideally treat these areas with liposculpture. Liposculpture isn’t a weight loss method or treatment for general obesity.

What to expect with the Liposuction Consultation?

During the liposuction consultation in Turkey, you present your various wishes, and our surgeon will inform you about the different techniques and what you can expect from the result.

We go through risks, complications, and warranties. If knowledge and chemistry are reasonable, we write an operation contract and make an operation reservation. Any treatment course will always start with an initial consultation. Here you have the opportunity to meet our staff and explain your expectations of any treatment. We can evaluate which treatment will best give you the desired result at this stage. Here you also have the opportunity to ask any questions about any treatment. How much you can do liposuction is very individual and depends on your starting point.

Experts don’t do liposuction to lose as much weight as possible. Surgeons do this procedure to see harmony with the rest of the body. You should also know that the final result of liposuction can only see after 3-6 months, when the tissue no longer swells and the skin contracts.

What are the Risks of Liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure. As with all operations, there will be a risk of complications in this procedure. Compared to other slightly larger interventions, however, this risk is negligible. Although rare, the primary thing that can occur is infection. We are cautious about preventive measures and a sterile technique. With our new technology, bleeding after liposuction in Turkey is minimal, resulting in minimal bruising.

However, there may be bruising on the legs, and the risk is higher with liposuction on the legs. Swelling after liposuction is most significant in the first week and gradually decreases. Decreased sensation occurs but returns about 1-2 months after treatment. Calluses under the skin appear about a week after the liposuction procedure and are part of the healing process. Calluses occur because of the scar tissue that forms when the surgeon removes the fat cells. How long the liposuction side effects last depends on the person.

We usually treat these problems with lymphatic drainage with good results. Excess skin/loose skin can sometimes be a problem if the elasticity before treatment is poor. We treated patients over 70 whose skin contracted with good results. However, check out the possible risks of liposuction:

  • Pain and swelling: The most common side effects of treatment are pain and swelling. This is natural because you must use tiny needles to get under the skin and absorb the fats. Therefore, approx. 1-2 weeks after surgery. In this context, you may also experience discoloration of your skin. However, this decreases as your body heals.
  • Sensory disorders: In some cases, sensory disorders may occur in the treated area after liposuction. This is because the nerves in the treated area can be affected in conjunction with the treatment. This can cause decreased sensation in the treated area. However, this feeling passes within a few months. It is sporadic for patients to experience a permanent loss of success in a treated area.
  • After bleeding: In rare cases, you may experience bleeding due to liposuction. Post-bleeding usually causes discoloration immediately after treatment, but this rarely affects the final result. After bleeding, you should treat it with a new operation in the area where it occurred.
  • Infections: Infections can occur in conjunction with all surgical procedures. However, these are extremely rare. Infections occur in only 1% of all treatments. Both our clinic and our business processes organize in such a way as to minimize the risk of disease effectively.
  • Blood clots: As with infections, there is always a small risk of blood clot formation in the liposuction procedure. You can best prevent this by being able to stand up and move again after surgery.

After liposuction, small holes in the skin stitch and plasters apply. Then you get a tight bandage from the outside. You can then take a shower and gradually massage the operated areas.

How to prepare for Liposuction Procedure?

Our surgeon will provide detailed information to prepare you for the liposuction procedure. The specialist will ask you to provide your medical history. Be sure to tell our surgeon about all the medications you use, including the supplements you take. Tell your doctor if you smoke, have allergies, have a blood clotting problem, or have high blood pressure.

Avoid alcohol for two weeks before and after the liposuction procedure. Don’t take ibuprofen or aspirin two weeks before the liposuction procedure. Also, reduce your salt intake during this process.

What are the steps for Liposuction?

The liposuction procedure is extremely comfortable and fast. Follow the steps closely we take in the liposuction procedure in Turkey:

  • Anesthesia

Liposuction performs with relaxation agents under general anesthesia. This type of anesthesia ensures that you are comfortable and relaxed.

  • Incision and process

During liposuction, the surgeon takes only your fat tissue and removes the skin that isn’t overlying it. Patients with much skin (for example, after pregnancy) should debate whether a tummy tuck is a better option. Sometimes, our plastic surgeons may recommend combining tummy tuck surgery with liposuction.

In the skin folds, the surgeon makes small incisions. These incisions are about 5 mm and ultimately leave minor scars. Next, the doctor injects a saline solution mixed with a local anesthetic to burst the fat cells. The specialist will insert a minimal cannula through this small incision. The cannula usually has a hose connected to a motor that creates negative pressure (in some cases, just a hand syringe is used instead of mechanical suction). The doctor then sucks the excess fat with the cannula using the appropriate portions.

  • Final

Finally, our surgeon closes the incisions and ends the procedure.

Different parts of the body are suitable for liposuction in different ways, and below, we describe some of the most common areas we treat with liposuction:

Liposuction for the Abdomen (Abdomen Liposuction)

The most suitable area for liposuction is the lower part of the abdomen, that is, the size down from the belly button. As a rule, the skin contracts very well, even if there is a slight excess of skin at the beginning; this also applies to skin with stretch marks after pregnancy.

How much a surgeon can flatten a stomach after abdominal liposuction in Turkey is very individual, and you should discuss it with our surgeon. The area above the navel is a little more challenging to treat because the fat there is firmer and more difficult to remove. But from our everyday experience, we know the results here are also good.

In general, a significant volume reduction is always possible; if an enormous amount of fat needs to remove, you want to be able to see the skin fold, especially in a sitting position.

Liposuction for the Hip (Hips Liposuction)

This area is generally very suitable for liposuction. It is the traditional love handles zone, where women are often dissatisfied with their high hips and lack of a pronounced waist. Men experience fat hanging over their waistbands. Excess skin in this area where liposuction is applied is a rare problem.

Liposuction for the Thigh (Thigh Liposuction)

It is the determination of fat deposits on the outside of the upper part of the thighs. This is one of the women’s most common and popular areas for liposuction. This was the classic area where liposuction was first applied, and along with the lower abdomen, it continued to be the most suitable area for liposuction.

It can be difficult to pull everything off when it comes to bulky thighs combined with heavy thighs. The improvement is still so significant that most people are delighted after liposuction. In the case of smaller fat deposits in this area, you can shape the result according to your wishes. Many women are tormented by irregularity and cellulite; it must be sad that, as a rule, it is difficult to get rid of this problem. You will usually see an improvement after treatment.

Liposuction for Inner Thigh (Inner Thigh Liposuction)

Many women suffer from too much fat in the upper part of their inner thighs. The area is generally considered sensitive and should treat with great care.

The skin here usually has weaker contractility, especially in women who tend to loosen and loosen the skin in this area. However, patients with good skin elasticity can achieve satisfactory results after liposuction with the proper technique.

Liposuction for Knee (Knee Liposuction)

Fat deposits on the inside of the knees are actually a common problem. Too much fat in this area quickly gives the impression of thick knees and flat thighs under the skirt.

A beautiful thigh tapers to the knee; even fewer volume adjustments give the desired result. The area is suitable for liposuction, and the results are promising. Excess skin is also never an issue here.

Liposuction for the Chin (Double Chin Liposuction)

Fat accumulation under the chin (double chin) is quite common in both thin and overweight people. Liposuction is often very beneficial in this area, as the skin constantly contracts and gives a more attractive facial profile.

Patients with loose skin on the neck should probably have liposuction combined with a neck lift or facelift to achieve a more satisfactory result after liposuction.

Liposuction for the Back (Back Liposuction / Contouring)

Some women have tufts hanging down the middle of the back under the bra edge. The expert can treat the area with liposuction, but an overall assessment of how much fat is present is necessary.

Liposuction for Breast (Male)

Breast liposuction is one of the most common areas for men. The advantage of liposuction, in this case, is that you avoid embarrassing scars, and the risk of contour change and roughness is shallow.

Excess skin is rarely a problem. However, in addition to fatty tissue, breasts are also composed of glandular tissue. If you have a large amount of glandular tissue, the surgeon should remove this tissue at once or later for the best results. Liposuction of female breasts is relatively rare. This can sometimes be relevant where small folds or fat deposits are present (after the patient has had breast reduction surgery).

Liposuction for Other Areas

Liposuction can apply to all body parts where there is regional lubrication. The areas mentioned above are the most common areas during liposuction. Liposuction can perform on the upper arms; the butt is considered a challenging area and isn’t very suitable for liposuction; this process can also act on fatty tumors (lipomas).

How is the Recovery After Liposuction?

When your liposuction procedure finishes, you will rest in one of our recovery rooms. You get a tight girdle to prevent swelling. You are in good shape immediately after the procedure, and liposuction takes a few hours. You will stay in our hospital for one night. Our nurses take care of you and offer you something to eat and drink after a short rest:

  • You can rest for a while after liposuction. In addition, it is advantageous to have less movement after the procedure. In the first week, you should avoid more vigorous efforts. You may feel moderate pain in the surgical area after liposuction. Several weeks off may be required for more extensive treatments and patients with a heavier workload. After about four weeks, you can exercise again as usual.
  • The surgeon may administer blood-thinning injections in larger liposuctions to prevent blood clots. You must also not be bedridden when you return to the hotel. You should get up and move around without physically straining, warming up, or sweating.
  • You can get a bandage on the area where the surgeon performed the liposuction. It can be a chin bandage, diaper, belt, or pants. You should use the bandage around the clock for two weeks, then during the day for 3-4 weeks. Bandages are there to prevent swelling and bruising as much as possible.
  • Swelling occurs after liposuction. You can usually see a shape change right after surgery, but swelling and bruising are at their worst by the third day. When it is time to remove the stitches, the node will usually decrease so much that it feels like before the operation, and the swelling will gradually decrease. The bruises are sought downward due to gravity. Even these bruises go away on their own in 2-3 weeks.
  • Sometimes, the area where liposuction performs may feel stiff and sometimes uneven a few weeks after the operation. It may take several months for the site to soften thoroughly.
  • Pain after liposuction is usually moderate. It can feel sensitive and almost like an exercise sore. The larger the liposuction area, the greater the pain. Usually, the area behind the hips can hurt a little too much. You must take the pain relievers prescribed for you. Tablets containing acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen may increase the tendency to bleed, and you should avoid it. You should also avoid alcohol for the first week after surgery. You should never start training until all the bruises are gone. Don’t sunbathe or use a sauna for five weeks.
  • Because the healing process is individual, listening to and adapting to your body’s signals is crucial. For the first time after liposuction, we recommend you stay away from exercise and other physical activities and continue brisk walks. You can start training again after three weeks. After six months at the earliest, we can evaluate the final result, a more proportional body contour. It’s essential to have realistic expectations. Keep in mind that liposuction results differ between people due to genetic differences such as skin elasticity and quality.

When Will You See Liposuction Results?

Liposuction results in Turkey are excellent. Already the day after the treatment, you may notice a change in the area you are treating, but keep in mind that you will swell for a few weeks after the treatment. You must agree with the doctor on the result you can achieve with the procedure to get a realistic idea of the result after the liposculpture treatment. Rarely, irregularity may occur.

Liposuction is a comprehensive operation. The surgeon can take large volumes of fat from tiny holes. However, there is always more or less scarring in connection with a process, and this also applies to liposuction, where scars are called scars. These sequences can be top secret. But it still leads to inequality.

Compression clothing is essential after surgery to prevent irregularity. This should give you good support during your recovery, but you may need to add an extra piece of clothing to the one you received during surgery. We also recommend after liposuction massages. But the most important thing to achieve the best possible result is to lose a few pounds in the months after liposuction.
